Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)

Real Estate Investment Trusts are listed trusts that are required to adhere to a certain operating model including the maximum level of debt, the distribution of income, the location of real estate assets it invests in and the management of these assets.

The requirements that REITs must adhere to are contained within the relevant legislation or ordinances that are usually administered by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong or the Securities and Exchange Commission for the U.S.
